Exploring the Performing Arts – Berkoff

This scheme is designed to be used as part of the delivery of the BTEC Level 1/2 Tech Award in Performing Arts (Acting) qualification. Component 1: Exploring the Performing Arts requires students to explore different styles of performance, practitioners’ work and their processes in creating work, and discover professional examples of their work. This scheme is looking at just one practitioner: it covers a practical approach to Steven Berkoff’s style, requiring students to explore devised performance and scripted scenes. Students would also need to be introduced to two other styles to fulfil the criteria for Component 1. The scheme could also be adapted or used for any KS4 Acting or Drama class.
